Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Lakewood

An unidentified woman was struck and killed by a vehicle, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Madison Avenue (Route 9).

Police found a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive woman lying in the roadway.

The victim was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
